AHEAD Americas: Judges Revealed

Bringing together leading figures in hotel design, architecture and operation from across the region, the judging panel for the second AHEAD Americas has been revealed. Larry Traxler, Senior Vice President Global Design Services, Hilton Worldwide, will serve as chair of a panel that also includes Andrew Fay, President, The Gettys Group, Brad Wilson, President, Atelier Ace and Ace Hotel Group, and Marcia MacDonald, Design Director, Yabu Pushelberg. The panel will gather at Ace Hotel New York (pictured) in mid-May to assess projects across 16 categories.

AHEAD MEA: Deadline Approaching

 Only a month remains until the 30 April deadline for this year’s AHEAD MEA programme. Celebrating the most ambitious and innovative hotels – boutique and branded – across the Middle East and Africa, the 2018 edition will take place once again during Dubai Design Week in mid-November. The judges will seek out hotels opened between January 2017 and February 2018, that push the boundaries of aesthetics and experience, as well as those that consistently meet the needs of client and customer alike. A detailed entry checklist can be found here, and, for a touch of inspiration, the full list of 2017 winners can be viewed here. Entry cost is AED1120 for your first submission, and AED560 for any subsequent entries.

AHEAD Europe: Open For Entries

Have you been involved in a European hotel project completed between June 2017 and May 2018? Does it offer the best in design and experience? If so, we want to hear from you! AHEAD Europe is now accepting entries for its 2018 edition, with winners announced on 19 November during a ceremony at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London. Interested? Check out the AHEAD submission checklist for a detailed rundown of everything you’ll need. Entry cost is £250.00 per project, per category, and the deadline for entries is 31 May.

AHEAD Asia: The Recap

The second edition of AHEAD Asia took place at Andaz Singapore on 15 March, and saw the Asia Pacific design community gather to recognise and celebrate the region’s best new hotels. The big winner was The Warehouse Hotel, Singapore, a meticulously restored historic, which took home prizes for Guestrooms, Lobby & Public Spaces, Urban Hotel – Conversion, and the coveted title of AHEAD Asia Hotel of the Year.
