Originally built in 1961 as a post office, 11 Howard includes historic architectural features such as generous ceiling heights and a gracious brick exterior. With architecture by Beyer, Blinder, Belle and interiors by Space Copenhagen, the transformation into a boutique hotel was guided by respect for the site’s heritage, while incorporating modern infrastructure and technology. Judges commented: “11 Howard demonstrates a layered approach to working with an existing structure.”
