Originally built in the 1930s, the Jian Ye Li shikumen complex has evolved over the years, yet remains essentially intact in its historical configuration. The shikumen have now been architecturally renovated, retaining the external features whilst tastefully altering the internal layout. Each original lane house is now one luxury guest suite. The result is a truly unique hospitality experience that raises the value and respect of Shanghai’s many heritage buildings.
