Escape to a hidden world where Japanese pop culture and audio nostalgia collide at Saikindō, Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island – winner of the Bar, Club or Lounge award at AHEAD MEA 2026.
Designed by AvroKO, the Japanese Hi-Fi bar transforms evenings into journeys of discovery, beginning behind the façade of a discreet fashion atelier. Beyond its concealed entrance, a rhythmic corridor inspired by Japan's 1960s Metabolism movement leads guests through a series of immersive spaces, each with its own distinct personality. Vintage speaker forms adorn richly crafted timber, accented by nostalgic movie posters that bring warmth to the intimate yakitori room. Elsewhere, embroidered tigers, sculptural ceilings and bold graphics can be found in the party room, with the two spaces working in harmony to evoke the sensation of stepping inside a giant speaker.
The judges praised the project's “exceptional storytelling, originality and flawlessly executed concept”, praising its ability to create “a complete journey”. Described as “bold, playful, and full of character”, Saikindō stood out for its imaginative narrative, meticulous craftsmanship and the sense of discovery and anticipation woven throughout the experience.
