Red Sugar at Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong

Conceived as a two-fold dining experience overlooking Hong Kong’s waterfront, Red Sugar Bar celebrates the heritage of Hung Hom, once home to Hong Kong’s dockyards. The arrival to the bar begins with a whimsical neon installation by local artist Adrian Wong, leading to a prominent brass fireplace and cosy lounge. The room’s palette is orange and marine green, with tropical plants conveying an urban oasis atmosphere. The jewel in the crown is the outdoor deck and garden terrace. Appearing to jut out into Victoria Harbour, the garden uses steel planters, exposed aggregate and wild landscaping to reinforce an urban and contemporary al fresco experience.
